Weekend Box Office Report

The weekend box office report is in and the results are not what we expected. With so many new movies coming out, not all of them faired well.

New movies this weekend included, Cars 3, 47 Meters Down, All Eyez on Me and Rough Night.

Rough Night, TwitterRough Night was anticipated to do well in the box office with stars like Scarlett Johansson and Kate Mckinnon.  However it’s weekend results were a little more than rough.

Cars 3 had uneasy expectations with how dark the trailer looked. The movie is back for the franchise and did much better than was anticipated.

47 Meters Down stars Mandy Moore, and while the trailer made it look intense and interesting, audiences disagreed.

All Eyez on Me is the Tupac film that audiences were hesitant about. It was unknown whether or not the film would be the tribute to Tupac many people feel is appropriate.

Here are the numbers for the box office report.

  1. Cars 3 $53.5 Million
  2. Wonder Woman $40.8 Million
  3. All Eyez on Me $27.1 Million
  4. The Mummy $13.9 Million
  5. 47 Meteres Down $11.5 Million

The new The Mummy movie was a big disappointment to consumers. The film stars Tom Cruise and there were far and few that were truly impressed.

Mandy Moore’s new movie also did not make quite the ‘splash’ it expected to.

Cars 3 however made it’s way past Wonder Woman this weekend with big results from it’s premier date.
