Kelsea Ballerini Is Serious About Being a Role Model

Kelsea Ballerini is one of country music’s fastest up and coming super stars. Her 2015 hits, “Love Me Like You Mean It” and “Dibs” helped her hit the ground running.

For a young woman who has released a true breakthrough album, The First Time and now working on her 2017 project which will be a little more mature, she is a big role model for young girls.

Ballerini did an in-depth interview with GQ in which she discussed being a role model for young fans. “You don’t want to overthink it too much,” she said about the mentality of being an example. “I see little girls at my meet-and-greets who are like, ‘Kelsea! It’s my first concert and I came to see you.’ And I’m thinking, I don’t want to post anything online that your mom would be mad at me for, because you’re important to me.’ ”

Ballerini is working on her upcoming album that she says moves in a different direction from her first album. She said the new project showcases and honest portrayal of how she has grown and evolved since The First Time brought her into the music scene.

Ballerini’s fiance, Morgan Evans, not only inspired a few of the new tracks on her album but also sings backup on one of the songs.
